It's been a slow realization, but was kind of a duh moment when I put it in words.

* If you had a $10 iTunes card burning a hole in your pocket, what songs would you buy? Well I own everything Tori Amos has done already.... so I'd backtrack and get some Rolling Stones.

* Best casual restaurant in Denver/Boulder? Why? We don't eat out much anymore and I never really had a favorite when we did... so I a m not sure! =)

* Top 3 design blogs you CAN'T get enough of! You'd think I'd be all over deaign blogs since I am a designer and all... but I spend all of my time on crafty blogs... sigh.

* What defines 'cozy' for you? How do you accomplish cozy?

* What's a perfect day mean to you? Breakfast with the family, a little time to myself to work on some crafty goodness, play time with the boy, dinner and a movie (at home) while snuggling on the couch with my boys, ending the day snuggled in bed next to the love of my life. =) Perfect!

* What are your favorite 'go-to' blogs that you read EVERY day?

Feel good movies. Funny movies. Like Love Actually. The Goonies. All the 80s movies like Pretty in Pink & Sixteen Candles.

* What's a perfect day mean to you?
A day when the phone doesn't ring, I'm not being yelled at from the other room, a good book, a bottle of wine, and time to myself. Aaaaaah!

Kath

YAY!!

Thanks for all the comments! I've been checking out all the blogs suggested...especially design blogs. I'm finding it helps to live vicariously thru design blogs to tide me over until I get a place of my own!

As for the DVD's, I've only bought 1 DVD in my life..."Princess Bride". Almost bought Elf but had it gifted to me for Christmas. "Love Actually" is the other DVD I really want to buy. So that's where that DVD question came from.

I need to revamp my wardrobe...I live in T-shirts and jeans and was hoping for (and got!) inspiration from you guys. And while I don't need maternity clothes, unless I take some weight off pretty quickly I might have to go that route! (kidding!)

So maybe I shouldn't have asked about comfort food, huh? Or asked about favorite restaurants. Btw Emily, totally checking out Mountain Sun for that grilled cheese you describe.

Thanks again for playing along :-)

Denise

* What did you learn most about yourself this year? Was it a shocker or a slow realization? Or a 'duh' moment?

Okay, so I might not have a complete list of answers for you, but I'll give it a shot:

  • I try to read my own blog everyday, in addition to The Art of Manliness, Follow Me Foodie, and a few others (including this one, of course!)

  • The Lord of the Rings for sure... and then probably all of the Rocky movies, Braveheart, and Good Will Hunting.

  • If I could make enough money to support myself (which isn't much), I'd travel every single day of my life... as long as my health would let me.

  • I learned that I'm actually a lot more independent that I thought I was. Just another part of growing up!

  • There's too many songs that pop up into my head... but if you'd like to donate a $10 iTunes card to me, I'd be more than willing to share! :-P

  • I love food, so it's hard to choose just one place in Denver/Boulder. But if I had to, I'd say that Illegal Pete's in Downtown Denver is hard to beat. Damn good food, any time of the day!

  • The best wardrobe change? That's gotta be shedding uncomfortable shoes for a nice comfy pair of rubber slippahs! Hawaiian style!

  • My perfect day is one that starts off with a hot cup of coffee, time with friends, adventure, new things, great food, and maybe even some great sex to top it all off!

Oh man. So many questions! Let's see.

1. I have quite a few. Pretty much everyone who was at my baby shower, plus Sundry, Swistle, Pseudostoops, SoMi Speaks. Some others that I'm not thinking of.

2. Very few. I am not a huge movie re-watcher. I always loved that Bette Midler/Lily Tomlin movie Big Business, though, and watched it a million times as a kid.

3. Um. I like to walk. And sleep. I'm boring, apparently.

4. Just that I can handle a lot, and make situations work even if they aren't what I would have picked. Definitely not a duh moment.

5. Probably Mumford and Sons. Everyone keeps raving about them and I've never even heard their stuff.

6. We love the Bull and Bush in the Cherry Creek area. Also Spicy Basil on Broadway.

7. Hm. I like Desire to Inspire, House of Turquoise, and Decorology.

8. Husband, dog, couch. Maybe a fire in the fireplace.

9. Elastic panels. Haha. Those things are so comfy I think we should all wear them, even when we aren't pregnant.

10. Oh god. I don't know. I'm reading The Unhealthy Truth now and that has lots of good tips for simple changes you can make with food purchases that make a difference. Since I'm soon to be deciding on food for a new little person, it's been very helpful.

11. Mac and cheese. Yum.

12. A day with Torsten and Montana, nice weather, a walk outside, peaceful and relaxing. But there are lots of different ways to spend a day that all feel perfect at the end.
