This Would Be Nice...
Can someone please invent a kitchen genie? You know, someone who could whip up a dinner or lunch or even breakfast on the weekends when I get out of bed before noon? I want magic. I want nice homecooked meals. And I want them in my kitchen. Now!
Is that too much to ask?
(Cousin Bill - I can hear you tsk-tsking all the way from Chicago :-> )
I'm not tsk-tsking at all. You just need a man - who can cook. LOL.
Actually, there are now all sorts of services providing "home cooked meals" Some are frozen (the Seattle Sutton or Weight Watchers meal program is the diet version of this) and some are freshly prepared and ready to roll.
I actually do eat a lot of frozen food because it just gets too much cooking for one, as you know.
Just got back from two weeks in France...I fell in love with four-course lunches and 90 minutes in which to eat it. Back in America its sandwich at the desk in 15 minutes. Yikes.

@ Cousin Bill - wow, lucky you...France! Actually, I need a chef- male or female- to do meal prep and make my kitchen smell yummy in the process. I think that is what I am missing the most. The process of cooking where the kitchen smells wonderful. So yeah, I need a chef. Or a kitchen ghost to pop in, do their magic, then get outta Dodge when they are finished.

Or a crock pot.

I'm currently a big fan of those pre-made meal places. My parents have been doing it for years, but I've been initiated only recently. Having a hot, tasty meal after nearly no work is a great concept. (They're not the cheapest thing...but compared to eating out it's a bargain!)

If you get one sent to you, can you find if they can conjure up one for me :)

You know, maybe someone should invent a candle that smells like pot roast or fried chicken or meat loaf so you could light it and have that slow-cooked aroma without any work. Or it could be an aerosol can of beef burgundy, pepperoni pizza or chili con carne. I think this might be a good idea for you...
France was fun but it was work, too. I was a wine judge at an international competition in Bordeaux. Tasting started at 8:30 a.m. and went on to 12:30 p.m. About 50 wines a morning. (the judges drank keg beer afterwards to cleanse their palates.) then a 90-minute, 2 hour lunch with wines, then field trip to wineries, than 2 hour dinner with wines and not back to the hotel room until 11 p.m. then up again and in my chair by 8:30 a.m. the next day.
I never realized eating and drinking was such hard work. LOL.
I did get one afternoon to drive to the Ocean. As I walked into the water a 1940s bomber plane flew up the coastline. I recognized the sound and looked up. there it was. thought that was kinda strange.

Chili con carne, huh? I guess you have to be very diligent that those sprays don't find their way to the bathroom. That could RUIN dinner forever! =)
