I did NOT get the 'dream' part time job that I went thru 3 interviews for. They had promised to call me 'either way' no later than today. When it got to be 7pm with no word, I called into them and I am sure the manager I talked to did not appreciate having to be put on the spot.
She was kind and gracious...as everyone with the company had been...and thanked me for my time and the 3 interviews.
Yes, I am sad. Yes, I thought I was the perfect fit for them. No, I don't know why they passed on me.
This was a huge lesson in humility as this is the first job I have ever truly wanted and applied for...and was turned down for. Yes, you read that right. First time a job ever said no to me. I mean, even the FBI hired me. I turned them down of course since I didn't want to be a pool typist...I imagined myself more of an undercover agent until my Dad pointed out to me that I cannot lie to save my life.
So it's sorta a sad night in Kathyland, but I'll get over it. That whole 'things happening for a reason' type of mindset.
Feel free to comment...or not..but please do not mention the name of the company where I interviewed (for those of you that know). God forbid a Google search leads someone back to my blog.
Anyway, the search for part-time work continues. If you have any good leads for me, feel free to pass them along.
Thanks guys!
Sorry to hear that. I'm genuinely bummed.

Their loss! You were probably over-qualified, and I'm not just saying that. And not to knock the company but...it's retail. Retail is yuck, esp around the holidays. Now at least you'll have your energy and sanity ;)
(What about Whole Foods?)

Sorry you didn't get the job. I'm the biggest believer of "it wasn't meant to be", so no doubt, it just wasn't. Something else will come up.

Thanks @ KOBW, Rosie, Di and Micah.
Am starting to think 'to heck with retail' and why don't I start another organizing business?
Rosie - WF is on the list. As well as the Fruit Store.

They can suck it!!!!
Just for that, I'm not organizing a damn thing.

Take it from me deer....
Even those jobs we really want turn into a pain in the @ss. This is my first and LAST stint in retail. YUK!
BTW, I'll be working on a post this weekend. I'm on the verge of ditching this rad crap and going back to school.

Bleck, I'm sorry hon. Stupid place - you would have been a perfect fit! I too believe in "everything happens for a reason" so this just means there is something else that you're supposed to do! And you should totally check out WF - that place rocks! And think of the easy access to Amy's foods and GF goodies!
